The importance of the weather is difficult to neglect. It is the factor that is very useful and necessary in different spheres of our life. The weather conditions can favour or impede, that influence the various situations and results of our activity. The weather forecast is very useful for sailors, pilots as well as for the other people in everyday life. One doesn’t go outside, not knowing the temperature or the weather forecast. So, it’s hardly to undervalue the meaning of the weather forecast in our life.
The weather forecast consists of several indicators, which are known and important: temperature, air pressure, humidity (dampness), wind direction and force, precipitation (snow, rain, hail). There are also the other indicators, but these ones are the major and are used for everyday weather forecast.
Mostly the weather depends on the climate of the region or continent. It’s difficult to imagine snow and low temperature in the areas of tropical climate. Such cases happened in the history but very rare. Some countries are so large that different regions of them are situated in different climatic zones and differ in weather conditions. For example USA stretches through arctic zone to tropical one. The most part of the territory is situated in the moderate latitudes. The climate, in turn, is affected by cyclones, air masses, ocean streams, relief etc. As the US are washed with three oceans, so the climates in different regions are extremely opposite. The inhabitants of Alaska will hardly see the temperature raise up to 20 degrees, as well as east coast will see snow.
So everyone uses the services of weather forecasting. And there are numerous of them on TV, radio, internet, but sometimes the weather does not correspond to the forecast. This happens in case of unforeseen change of one element. For example, the wind changes its direction and moves the cyclone off, following the changes of temperature, precipitation, humidity etc.
The other interesting thing is the weather forecast in the cities. Large cities, just like New York, have the area of several, sometimes dozens, of smaller cities, and the weather in one district differs from the weather in the other one. Nevertheless despite the climatic conditions there are some exclusions, which happen sometime in the nature. Thus the arctic air, brought from the northern territories, can move up to Florida, where it causes the deep frosts. But there territories which have never experienced the frosts, among them are California, where the average temperature in January is 10-17 degrees.
So the weather forecast is the necessary thing, it helps to plan the day, week, month ahead, but one can’t foresee everything. And it is very important to know the weather forecast, departing in journey. Do not neglect weather and it won’t disturb you.
